Boys Gymnastics Team of Rohnert Park

Our Boys' Team Head Coach is “Coach of the Year”, Dan Wood. Dan is from Missouri. He began his gymnastics career at
Indiana State University. Dan has coached gymnastics since 1979. Among his lifetime highlights, he coached a team in Saudi Arabia
and he developed the largest Boys' Program in the US at a conglomeration of clubs called “Olympiad Gymnastics” in the St Louis
area. With his knowledge and dedication, Dan and the RPG Boys Team brought home a blue (1st Place State) 2006 banner. Dan is also
a Brevet judge for the Boys Program, which means he can be invited to judge international meets. Dan has been selected to receive
the Coach of the Year Award from the Northern California Boys' Gymnastics Association (NCBGA) for 2006.

Paul Cotter started the Boys' Competitive Team at Rohnert Park Gymnastics with two gymnasts in 1994. One of his original
gymnasts went on to compete at the collegiate level at Cal Berkley. Paul retired from coaching gymnastics in 2000 to accept a job
as an IT Consultant at Sonoma State University. He was recently coaxed out of retirement to temporarily fill the vacant position
of assistant coach for the Boys' Competitive Team at RPG. Paul is now coaching high school age boys that he had previously coached
as young as age four. The boys and parents are all thrilled to have him back and are using their most persuasive powers to keep him
coaching beyond the current season.
