The Mission of North Bay Gymnastics Boosters (NBGB) is to foster physical, mental and emotional integrity and stamina in youth through competitive gymnastics. By promoting and hosting local, regional, state, national and international gymnastics competitions, NBGB instills sportsmanship and motivation in young athletes and cultivates important life skills. Gymnastics is among the most rigorous of sports. It requires extreme dedication and incorporates both team and individual goals. Our gymnasts generally spend 12 – 20 hours per week in training. Young people who are afforded the opportunity to compete in gymnastics develop life-long habits of health-consciousness, commitment to goals and a quest for excellence. NBGB’s vision is to promote the development of responsible, successful adults through gymnastic competitions during their youth. NBGB was founded to raise needed funds for competitive meets, to pay for the coaches' travel expenses associated with these meets and to purchase competition uniforms. North Bay gymnasts have been perennial contenders for top honors in both team and individual competitions throughout California and Nevada. Our gymnasts have gone to zone, state and regional competitions every year. Several gymnasts have earned spots at the nationally held Junior Olympic competition. In past years, 10 gymnasts supported by NBGB have obtained college gymnastics scholarships. |
